TORONTO (July 5, 2024) – Equestrian Canada (EC) and the Canadian Olympic Committee have announced the roster of Team Canada equestrian dressage and eventing athletes nominated to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The prestigious 12-week competition draws Canadians to make the annual pilgrimage for the chance to test their mettle against some of the best dressage combinations in the world. And with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralymics fast approaching, the entries from the north made sure to bring their ‘A’ game.

July 29, 2019, Lima, PER – After fierce competition for the top of the podium, on July 29 the Canadian Dressage Team took Pan Am gold for the first time in 28 years, and earned Canada’s berth to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games during the Lima 2019 Pan American Games in Peru.
Team members, Jill Irving of Moncton, NB, Tina Irwin of Stouffville, ON, Lindsay Kellock of Toronto, ON, and Naima Moreira Laliberté of Outremont, QC, were neck-and-neck with the United States during the first leg of the team competition on July 28, finishing a fraction behind. They returned to the Team Final on July 29 with laser focus to achieve their dual goals of gold medals, and a spot for Tokyo 2020 as one of the top two teams not already qualified.

The EC Dressage Recognition Reception also honoured The Canadian Dressage Team – comprised of Tina Irwin of Stouffville, ON; Lindsay Kellock of Toronto, ON; Naima Moreira Laliberté of Outremont, QC; and Jill Irving of Moncton, NB – for bringing the gold medal back to Canada from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games in Peru.

Equestrian Canada (EC) proudly awarded Jill Irving the Volunteer of the Month Award, May 2017, for her ongoing commitment to the Jill Irving Youth Equine Mentor Program. Volunteers are integral to the success and growth of dressage, and the entire dressage community celebrates the contributions of volunteers like Jill Irving, through the Volunteer of the Month Program.
Jill was commended for creating her successful dressage youth mentorship program, travelling six Canadian riders to Wellington, FL, to experience international dressage competition at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.
A proud recipient of this prestigious award, Jill remains committed to her program and to offering invaluable opportunities to young riders, year after year.
